About the Role

We are seeking a talented and highly motivated Translational Research Scientific Leader to join our oncology group and lead multidisciplinary translational activities including biomarker enabling strategy within drug discovery programs from inception through early clinical testing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership, scientific excellence, and cross-functional operational leadership to deliver high-quality data packages supporting decision-making through preclinical and clinical phases.
  • Design and integrate the translational biomarker plan into the program strategy and execution within multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Collaborate with internal scientific and clinical experts across several functional areas (PK/PD, Toxicology, Histopathology, Data Science, Clinical Development) and manage external partners (central lab and testing vendors) to meet quality and timelines regarding clinical sample processing and data reporting according to specifications.
  • Participate in the selection of CROs and testing vendors, define deliverables, quality, and success criteria.
  • Participate in sites trainings for biomarker sample management.
  • Collaborate with clinical and data management teams to participate in the elaboration of clinical documents and data management plan.
  • Analyze cross-functional biomarker data and interpret results with the support of biostatisticians.
  • Be co-responsible with the project manager for internal and external resources, as well as for the generation and delivery of high-quality documentation for reviews and decision-making, developing SOPs and implementing best practices.
  • Be proactive and engaged in fostering external awareness on new trends, technologies, and opportunities in translational research.
  • Participate in the scientific evaluation of external opportunities in R&D.

Requirements

  • PhD or MD/PhD with post-doctoral experience in oncology/immuno-oncology and ideally 5 to 10 years of experience in drug discovery in one or several pharmaceutical industries/biotechs.
  • Successful track record of leading translational science and execution of biomarker strategy within drug discovery projects, from target validation to clinical development.
  • Experience with technologies to identify and characterize biomarkers such as RNAseq, flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, and multi-omics analysis is highly desirable.
