Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Application Engineer to join our team at Samsung Electronics America. As a Technical Champion for Secure Silicon Solutions, you will be responsible for leading technical sales presentations, product roadmap updates, and trainings to customers in the EMEA region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with sales and marketing teams to identify and win designs with assigned customers in EMEA regions.
  • Manage technical sales presentations, product roadmap updates, and trainings to customers.
  • Provide technical support to customers in EMEA regions and to the company's sales and marketing staff.
  • Take the lead in all customer technical requirements to ensure smooth customer product selection, evaluation, design-in, design-win, qualification, and mass production.
  • Review customer specifications and determine present and future customer product requirements.
  • Active project management to maintain and communicate customer evaluations, design-in, design-win, qualification schedules, and mass production ramp-up.
  • Provide quick response and resolution to customer technical issues and problems.
Requirements
  • BSEE, with MSEE preferred, in electronics.
  • Strong knowledge in secure silicon & smart card solutions in selected fields (SIM / eSE / Banking / ID).
  • Experience with JAVA CARD OS for Smartcard, MCU Software & OS, Hardware development tools, ARM SC000, SC300.
  • Cryptography (RSA, ECC, AES, DES,...).
  • Minimum five years of design, product, test, system, and application engineering experience in described fields.
  • Familiar with smart card dedicated protocols/specifications (ISO7816, ISO14443,...).
  • Familiar with certification schemes (Common Criteria, EMVCo,...).
  • Proven Customer support & project management.
Skills and Attributes
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with ability and affinity to respond quickly.
  • Analytic and synthetic capabilities along a pro-active mindset.
  • Must be well organized and autonomous and be able to plan according to the needs of customers and company's teams (engineering, application, sales & marketing...).
  • Very good verbal and written communication in English and preferably, also in French.
  • Must be able to work well with other engineers, as well as with various people with various backgrounds and knowledge sets.
  • Must be a team player in multi-cultural environments and be able to lead as well as be led.
  • Experienced with cross-cultural and cross-departmental project co-ordination.
  • Expertise in C, assembly, embedded application design, security process.
  • Presentation skills to develop a presentation and speak in front of others; proficient in Microsoft Office tools.
