Position Overview:
Within the Resources and Coordination Directorate, your primary role involves the formulation of public contracts and the preparation of tender documentation in partnership with operational units and legal departments, ensuring adherence to public procurement regulations and timelines. You will provide guidance to operational units regarding procurement methodologies and associated legal implications. Additionally, you will autonomously oversee consultation processes for contracts of a specified value. You will also facilitate purchasing procedures in conjunction with the Purchasing Division and the Public Procurement Division.
Profile:
You are a Local Government Officer, holding a higher education qualification in Public Contract Law / Public Procurement or a Master’s degree in Public Economic Law and/or a Master’s in Local Government Law or a comparable qualification. You possess relevant prior experience in similar roles.
You have a solid grasp of public procurement legislation, are capable of evaluating legal risks, and have an understanding of municipal budgeting processes and administrative functions. You are skilled in utilizing computer applications, drafting reports, and engaging with supervisors effectively. With strong interpersonal abilities, you exhibit precision, flexibility, analytical reasoning, and a collaborative spirit. You are self-motivated, independent, and thrive in teamwork settings.
