Project Overview
The Technical Assistance to ARSO in Road Safety project aims to improve road safety in Africa through the production of better data and capacitation on state-of-the-art decision making. This project is a long-standing commitment of the African Union towards its Member States, with the European Union as a long-term partner.
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Road Safety Expert to support the African Union's African Road Safety Observatory (ARSO) work program. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Document Preparation: Supporting the preparation of all documentation, both internally and externally, to ensure the effective implementation of the ARSO work program.
- Collaboration and Liaison: Liaising and working closely with the European Union, World Health Organization, and other regional observatories, as well as institutions collecting road safety-related data, to contribute to the production of evidence-based publications deemed essential by the ARSO Steering Committee.
Key Responsibilities
The Road Safety Expert will be responsible for:
- Supporting the ARSO work program in relation to all documentation preparation.
- Liaising and working closely with EU, WHO, and other regional observatories, as well as institutions collecting road safety-related data.
Qualifications and Skills
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Master's degree in public health, engineering, or a relevant discipline.
- At least 7 years of relevant professional experience.
- Knowledge of remote-work collaborative tools.
Language Skills
The candidate should have:
- At least level C1 in English.
- At least B1 in French.
- Knowledge of other languages spoken in Africa, such as Arabic, Swahili, Zulu, etc.
