Job Title: High Performance Computing for Nanoscale Light-Matter Interactions

At INRIA, we are seeking a highly skilled engineer to enhance the high performance computing capabilities of our numerical tools developed in the DIOGENeS software suite.

Context and Team

The Atlantis project is a joint initiative between INRIA and the Jean-Alexandre Dieudonné Mathematics Laboratory at Université Côte d'Azur. Our team of applied mathematicians and computational scientists is dedicated to designing, analyzing, developing, and applying innovative numerical methods for systems of partial differential equations (PDEs) modeling nanoscale light-matter interaction problems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop GPU and multi-GPU-enabled versions of the compute-intensive numerical kernels of the DG-type high order finite element solvers for solving differential models of nanophotonics.
  • Implement parallelization strategies for a statistical learning-based global optimization method coupled to the above-mentioned DG-type high order finite element solvers for inverse design workflows.
Requirements

Candidates must hold a Master's degree or a PhD in applied mathematics/scientific computing or computational wave physics or computational photonics. Required skills include sound knowledge of numerical analysis and development of finite element type methods for computational physics, concrete experience in numerical modeling for computational electromagnetics, strong programming skills, and exposure to high performance computing models.
