Riggers/Erectors - Syngenta, Huddersfield

We are looking for a skilled Rigger/Erector to join our team in Huddersfield. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for setting up lifting equipment and erecting working platforms for use in construction, maintenance, and repair of engineering plant and machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ascertain job requirements from drawings or other specifications, including lifting studies/plans.

• Inspect items to be moved, determine weight, and decide on the type of equipment to be used.

• Erect jib, derrick, or similar hoisting equipment using winches as necessary and install lifting tackle such as ropes and pulleys.

• Attach slings, chains, or other grappling equipment to the item to be moved and connect to hoisting equipment.

• Direct equipment operators to move objects to the required position.

• Splice wire and fibre ropes.

• Operate hydraulic jacking equipment and move objects on rollers.

• Train and operate a Forklift Truck as per site/client requirements.

• Adhere to all safety requirements, including safety checks of tools and equipment.

• Use all relevant workshops/site equipment associated with job requirements, including all relevant training/certification requirements.

Requirements:

• Approved Apprenticeship/NVQ Level 3.

• Ideally, experience working at Syngenta previously.
