Head of Policy and Advocacy

CSL Vifor, a global biotechnology company, is seeking an experienced leader to drive policy, advocacy, and government affairs strategies in France. As the Head of Policy, Advocacy & Government Affairs (PAGA), France, you will play a critical role in shaping policy outcomes and funding opportunities that support differentiation, vaccine uptake, and pandemic readiness.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and Implement Strategies: Design and execute strategies to influence policy decisions and secure funding opportunities that align with CSL Vifor's business objectives.
- Policy Analysis and Insights: Identify and analyze strategic policy risks and opportunities, providing actionable insights to the local CSL Vifor and CSL Behring teams.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including parliamentarians, government agencies, coalitions, academics, KOLs, and advocacy groups.
- Grant Management: Lead the French grants process to foster research, evidence-based programs, and education that support policy ambitions and strengthen stakeholder networks.
- Policy Materials and Submissions: Develop and submit relevant policy materials, position papers, and submissions tailored to the French environment, ensuring input from internal experts.
- Compliance and Approval: Ensure compliance with industry codes and the CSL Vifor approval process for grants, submissions, presentations, and other materials used in policy outreach.
- International Collaboration: Contribute to European policy, advocacy, and government affairs strategies, participating in global team meetings and ensuring collaboration and alignment within CSL Vifor and the various CSL policy teams.
- Communications and Media: Collaborate with the EMEA Communications lead in developing creative media strategies for amplifying policy messaging and contributing content for use in Seqirus channels.
- Agency Partnerships: Manage agency partners in France, ensuring clear and aligned briefs and high-impact delivery in accordance with budget.
- Experience: At least 7 years' experience in public affairs, policy, and government affairs roles, preferably in large, complex organizations, including government. Prior experience in vaccines or rare diseases is appreciated but not required.
- Education: University or Bachelor's degree. A Master's degree in political science, public policy, public health, or MBA/JD would be an advantage.
- Skills: Demonstrated ability to influence at senior levels, collaborate within a matrixed organization, and drive outstanding commercial results through effective policy, advocacy, and government affairs strategies.
- Knowledge: Deep knowledge and nuanced understanding of the European pharma/biotech/vaccines landscape and related political affairs, particularly in the public health environment in France.
- Language: Fluency in French and English.
