About the Role

As a Satellite RF Integration Engineer at Loft Orbital Solutions, you will be instrumental in the integration of radio frequency subsystems for our dependable satellite systems. Collaborating with our RF team across various locations, you will develop, integrate, and validate both sub-system and system-level solutions for our satellites. Your expertise will be vital to the success of our missions in space.

Key Responsibilities
  • RF System Evaluation: Assist in the setup of RF test benches and support the testing and validation of RF systems in conjunction with our RF engineers to ensure that our RF products meet performance specifications. This may involve utilizing RF testing equipment, analyzing test results, and troubleshooting any issues that arise.
  • Integration and Troubleshooting: Work alongside hardware and testing engineers to merge software with RF hardware components. Identify and resolve any compatibility or performance challenges that may occur.
  • Software Engineering: Develop, debug, and maintain low-level software code for Loft RF systems, which may include firmware, device drivers, and embedded software.
  • Contribute to Loft Gateway SDR product development: Engage in design based on new system-on-chip architectures, interface definitions, and CPU/FPGA advancements.
Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in radio frequency subsystem integration.
  • Demonstrated experience in RF system integration, troubleshooting, and performance assessment.
  • Proficiency in link budget calculations and antenna modeling.
  • Ability to independently lead system and software integration efforts.
  • Familiarity with S-band and X-band frequency communications.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
