Data Center Operations Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Operations Technician to join our team at Amazon Data Services France SAS. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our data center facilities, including electrical and mechanical infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and Maintain Electrical and Mechanical Equipment: Ensure the reliable operation of all electrical and mechanical equipment within the data center, including generators, switchgear, UPS systems, and HVAC equipment.
- Supervise Contractors and Develop Work Plans: Supervise contractors who perform maintenance and repairs, and develop work plans for emergency repairs of critical assets.
- Collaborate with Internal and External Stakeholders: Work closely with internal teams, including engineering and operations, as well as external stakeholders, such as vendors and contractors, to ensure seamless operations.
- Ensure Safety and Compliance: Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to while performing work, and maintain compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
- Perform Troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis: Troubleshoot complex technical issues and perform root cause analysis to identify and resolve problems.
- Develop and Maintain Technical Documentation: Develop and maintain technical documentation, including method statements, standard operating procedures, and emergency response procedures.
- Good English Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Apprentice/Trades Certified or Diploma in Electrical Field: Relevant certification or diploma in an electrical field, with a strong understanding of electrical systems and principles.
- 3+ Years of Experience in Operations and On-Call Support: At least 3 years of experience in operations and on-call support for data center facilities or mission critical plants/production facilities.
- Familiarity with BMS and EPMS Control Systems: Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS) and Energy Performance Management Systems (EPMS) control systems, including data collection and trending.
