CTPA is seeking a proactive and seasoned Value Added Tax (VAT) Policy Consultant to further bolster its VAT Unit, which operates under CTPA's Tax Administration and VAT Division (TAV). The ideal candidate will possess substantial expertise in VAT formulation and management, particularly in developing nations. S/he will offer intellectual guidance across various domains, especially concerning the establishment of internationally recognized standards for the effective and efficient structuring of VAT systems in a globally digitalized marketplace and their successful implementation.
Key ResponsibilitiesPrimary Duties
- Contribute to the advancement of CTPA's initiatives on VAT and consumption taxes in alignment with the CFA's objectives and directives.
- Assist in the formulation of guidelines regarding the design and execution of effective and efficient approaches for applying VAT to digital commerce.
- Engage in research and analysis on leveraging technological advancements to improve VAT policy and administration efficiency.
- Provide high-quality, country-specific guidance and technical support in the realm of VAT and other indirect taxes.
- Participate in the activities of Working Party No. 9 on Consumption Taxes.
Qualifications
Ideal Candidate Profile
Academic Background
- An advanced university degree in law, public finance, taxation, economics, or equivalent professional credentials.
Professional Background
- A minimum of five years of professional experience in VAT and/or indirect tax policy and administration.
- Extensive background in VAT policy design, management, and execution.
- A solid understanding of the OECD's prior work on VAT.
Language Proficiency
- Fluency in one of the two OECD official languages (English and French) and a willingness to learn the other.
Contract Duration: Eighteen months fixed-term appointment, with the possibility of renewal.
Compensation: Depending on experience, the monthly salary commences at 7,738.74 EUR plus allowances based on eligibility, exempt from French income tax.
Selection Process: For shortlisted candidates, written assessments and video-recorded interviews are anticipated.
