As an Employment Lawyer at Warner Bros. Discovery, you will play a key role in supporting the People & Culture (P&C) team in matters of social legislation, including individual and collective relations. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring compliance with French employment law and regulations.
Your Role Accountabilities...- Advise P&C partners and the leadership team on social legislation matters, including drafting employment contracts, disciplinary letters, and settlement agreements.
- Update contracts, agreements, and template documents needed for P&C.
- Review social reporting documents, such as the social report, health and safety report, and PAPRIPACT.
- Support the leadership team in implementing group policies and ensuring employment legal aspects of strategic decisions.
- Prepare collective bargaining agreements and participate in negotiation meetings with union representatives.
- Provide advice on ensuring legal compliance with the requirement for the annual calendar of meetings with staff representatives.
- Review meetings agendas and documents to be presented to the works council and its committees.
- Support P&C in organizing elections of the CSE members.
- Manage pre-litigation and litigation files with the help of external lawyers.
- Prepare and facilitate legal training for staff.
- Support P&C in managing relations with the Labour Inspectorate and Occupational Physician.
- Manage relations with the Employers' Federation and actively participate in the social commission.
- Manage and apply international laws and global policies across the organization.
- Provide corporate support, including M&A, JV, multi-country projects, TUPE, integration and transformation projects, and commercial contract support.
- Manage relationships with external counsel to ensure best-in-class legal support and best rates.
- Solid French employment law experience and qualifications are essential.
- Clear, concise, and practical communication skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Organized and able to juggle priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work in a matrixed environment, ensuring all relevant parties are kept in the loop.
- Experience as a solicitor/equivalent within the employment law team of a law firm or in-house is desired.
- Exposure to international employment laws and/or multinational corporate environments is an advantage.
- Professional and calm under pressure.
- Commercial acumen and ability to grasp concepts quickly.
- Inclusive behavior, ensuring all key stakeholders are kept in the loop.
