Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Engineer to join our team at Kraken. As a Senior HSE Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of HSE oversight, advice, and support to the project team during the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a Zero Harm culture and behaviors within the project team.
  • Support the HSE and Package Managers in implementing the COU HSE Charter and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Identify and mitigate HSE risks within the Package Scope of Work, ensuring that contractors are implementing COU Contractual HSE Requirements.
  • Ensure that each contractor issues, maintains, and implements their individual HSE Management Plans and PPSPS.
  • Support contractors in liaising with the CSPS where required, and cascade EDF Renewables' lifesaving rules and project HSE charter at worksites.
  • Communicate HSE information efficiently to project team members and all other interested parties, including contractors, subcontractors, and visitors.
  • Review and comment on package-relevant contractor HSE documentation, such as HSE Management Plans, PPSPS, PdPs, Risk Assessments Method Statements (RAMS), Emergency Response Plans, incident, and investigation reports.
  • Perform regular site and facilities HSE inspections and planned audits, ensuring tracking of output to action closure.
  • Attend weekly safety walkthroughs with site management and conduct daily safety tours at WTG package sites.
  • Produce weekly and monthly reports and submit to the Project HSE Manager, monitoring HSE Key Performance Indicators.
  • Monitor contractor HSE performance and propose preventive and corrective actions as required.
  • Implement weekly/bi-weekly HSE meetings with WTG Contractor HSE Manager and attend WTG weekly meetings.
  • Ensure that all incidents, accidents, and near misses are properly reported, recorded, and investigated.
  • Liaise with other packages to share lessons learned and apply 'best practice' through all project activities.
  • Conduct any other HSE-related duties as assigned by the Project HSE Manager.
Requirements
  • Fluent spoken and written French and English.
  • On- and offshore construction/installation experience.
  • Knowledge of WTG package activities (onshore fabrication/assembly and offshore construction/commissioning).
  • Knowledge/proficiency of French HSE legislation, including electrical safety (NF C, working at height, lifting rules).
  • Ability to animate and deliver internal HSE processes.
  • Able to develop a constructive approach and maintain good communication with contractors.
Working Conditions
  • Starting at EDFR office in Nanterre for 3 months, then relocating to Le Havre Siemens Gamesa factory and pre-assembly harbour with regular travel to project worksites onshore and offshore.
  • Permanent site-based position, working 5 days a week, with possible overtime work on Saturdays and Sundays (exceptional and if justified and validated by Project HSE Manager).
