Role Summary

This role presents a distinctive opportunity to engage in Distributed Generation (rooftop) solar initiatives. The position involves overseeing the Operation and Maintenance of Solar Plants across various locations and supporting the Lead Engineer in electrical tasks, troubleshooting, and additional responsibilities.

Technical Responsibilities

- Collaborate with the Lead Engineer in strategizing and overseeing solar panel cleaning and preventive maintenance tasks.

- Aid the Lead Engineer in monitoring multiple solar project sites using the VCOM (Meteo Control) monitoring system.

- Conduct routine preventive maintenance of electrical and solar apparatus in accordance with established schedules and specific equipment requirements.

- Assist in planning annual shutdowns and significant equipment overhauls, ensuring thorough inspections of electrical systems.

- Reassemble and test equipment per specifications or testing schedules.

- Monitor the health of electrical equipment.

- Contribute to Continuous Improvement by proposing enhancements, initiating modifications to bolster Equipment/Process Reliability, Safety, Maintainability, and Cost Efficiency.

- Perform technical investigations to identify root causes of failures.

- Oversee the inspection of equipment utilized in cleaning operations (Motorized Brushes & Robots).

Reporting and Documentation Duties

- Process work orders and service reports as assigned by the Project Coordinator.

- Assist the Lead Engineer in compiling documents and data for Monthly O&M and HSE reports for clients.

- Maintain historical records for electrical equipment.

- Collaborate with the Lead Engineer to prepare Method Statements for cleaning and maintenance activities at each site, along with other necessary documentation.

Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)

- Ensure strict compliance with Plant Safety Protocols and maintain good housekeeping practices.

- Process Permit to Work requirements for each activity and project site.

- Support the Company’s Safety, Environment, and Quality policies and programs, fulfilling specific duties and responsibilities as outlined in management system documentation and procedures.

Candidate Profile

- A diploma in Electrical Engineering or Electrical and Electronics Engineering is required, along with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the Solar Electrical Industry.

- Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English are essential.

- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities are necessary.

- A solid understanding of HSE, particularly regarding electrical safety, is required.

- Familiarity with Solar Systems is essential.

- Attention to detail and effective problem-solving skills are critical.

- Good physical health is required.

- Management skills are a plus.
