About the Role
As a Bags and Accessories Designer at Canada Goose, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our premium product offerings. You'll collaborate closely with the Design Director of Shoes and Accessories, working within a dynamic team to bring innovative and stylish designs to life.
Your Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the design team to ensure seamless execution of seasonal calendars and product concepts.
- Lead the design process for a designated number of bags and accessories, from initial concept to prototype approval, reporting directly to the Creative Director.
- Manage special projects in partnership with the Design Director and team members.
- Work closely with merchandising partners to ensure designs align with business objectives and market trends.
- Communicate design updates and changes effectively with Product Development Engineers (PDEs) throughout the prototyping process.
- Participate in fittings for designated styles, providing valuable feedback and ensuring a perfect fit.
- Collaborate with the Materials department to source and select fabrics and trims that elevate our product quality and aesthetic.
- Mentor and guide Associate Designers on technical aspects of bags and accessories creation.
- Develop mock-ups to support seasonal concept development and visual presentations.
- Conduct market research through vendor visits, trade shows, and trend analysis to inform design decisions.
- Contribute to the seasonal color palette development, showcasing your expertise in color theory and brand aesthetics.
Your Profile
- Proven experience as a Bags and Accessories Designer within a reputable fashion or lifestyle brand.
- A strong understanding of design principles, materials, and construction techniques.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.
- Passion for innovation and staying ahead of emerging trends in the accessories market.
- Proficiency in industry-standard design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).
