Job Title: Lead Full Stack R&D Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Full Stack R&D Engineer to join our reporting team at Ansys. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the planning, architecture, and research of our software tools, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and innovation.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of our application, working closely with product managers, designers, and other developers.
  • Coordinate product design and development activities, requiring extensive analysis in areas such as user experience, software design, and solver research.
  • Act as a technical reference within the group or product, developing and employing best practices and maintaining them through technical reviews and mentoring.
  • Perform complex bug verification, release testing, and beta support across multiple products.
  • Research problems discovered by QA or product support and develop solutions, collaborating with the QA/support team.
  • May work with strategic customers or proxies to assess needs and develop solutions.
  • Operate without direct supervision and may function as a team leader, project manager, or software architect.
  • May be responsible for line management of a small technical team but primary duties are of an individual technical nature.
Requirements:
  • BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 8 years' experience, MS with 6 years' experience, or PhD with 4 years' experience.
  • Proficiency in back-end technologies such as Python, Django.
  • Proficiency in front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g. React, Angular).
  • Familiarity with the W3C Web Components specifications and best practices for building interoperable and reusable components.
  • Proven track record of crafting robust and efficient code.
  • Experience with version control systems and Agile development methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with cloud technologies (e.g. AWS, Azure).
  • Experience with web 3D technologies (e.g. WebGL).
  • Experience leading projects and delivering high-quality products in a large-scale commercial software development environment.
  • Ability to translate business needs into development plans.
  • Ability to overcome obstacles and drive projects to completion.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and geographies, and to mentor junior developers.
