Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Compositing Supervisor to join our team at The Yard VFX. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for overseeing the creative direction of our projects, ensuring that the artistic vision is met, and collaborating with our VFX Supervisor to deliver high-quality results.

Main Responsibilities
  • Establish methodologies and estimate project costs with the VFX Supervisor and production team.
  • Implement production standards and plan rendering/compositing strategies with the CG Supervisor.
  • Collaborate with the Paint & Roto Lead to break down project requirements.
  • Define production tasks for each shot with the production team.
  • Manage artists throughout the project and ensure the quality of their work.
  • Lead review sessions and ensure work meets client expectations.
  • Provide technical support to the compositing team and verify technical compliance of data passing between departments.
  • Understand and represent the vision of the VFX Supervisor and client in their absence.
  • Address creative direction by providing technical and/or artistic solutions.
  • Report technical, strategic, and organizational problems or solutions to the HoD 2D.
  • Participate in supporting artists in their skills development and professional monitoring.
  • Participate in mid and post-mortems of the project.
Required Skills
  • Previous experience as a compositing supervisor on international projects.
  • At least 10 years of experience as a Compositing Artist/Lead Compositing/Compositing Supervisor.
  • Strong sense of initiative and creativity.
  • Comprehensive understanding of technical and creative aspects of VFX production and processes.
  • Proficiency with compositing software environments.
  • Familiarity with production tracking tools.
  • Ability to communicate in French and English both verbally and in writing.

Work Arrangement

On-site at the studio in Paris or Montpellier – possibility of working in hybrid mode according to the internal teleworking charter.
