d2m Services is in search of a skilled Marine Engineering Specialist to contribute to an Oil and Gas initiative focused on FPSO life extension.
This position emphasizes the refurbishment of tandem systems and offloading buoys. The technical responsibilities will center around marine systems and piping challenges, along with other pertinent technical areas where the Marine Engineer's expertise can be utilized.
Main Responsibilities:- Engineering/Construction:
- Supervising and evaluating the tasks carried out by the EPSCC contractor and its subcontractors.
- Collaborating with various specialists and stakeholders as required.
- Establishing and overseeing the contractor's verification of equipment packages.
- Monitoring construction and integration activities.
- Contributing to planning and follow-up processes.
- Overseeing commissioning tasks of related packages/systems.
- Reviewing Classification approvals.
- Ensuring compliance with design standards through comprehensive reviews.
- Providing clarifications, requesting deviations, and addressing unforeseen technical challenges with a proactive and skilled approach.
- Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE):
- Exhibiting exemplary conduct in line with HSE standards.
- Implementing HSE protocols within the discipline area.
- Prior experience in the merchant marine, ideally in a chief engineer capacity.
- Deck experience will be acknowledged if complemented by a degree from the French merchant marine (with competencies in both deck and machinery).
- Knowledge of FPSO, marine, and tandem systems.
- Preferably, previous experience in West Africa.
- Proficient in English, with a strong preference for fluency in French.
Location: France / Angola
Duration: 12/18 months (4/6 months in Paris until FID, followed by 8/12 months in Angola)
Starting Date: September - October 2024
