Clinical Psychologist Job Overview

Primary Objective of the Clinical Psychologist Role:

In alignment with the organizational mission and adhering to ethical standards, the Clinical Psychologist is responsible for designing, developing, and executing both preventive and therapeutic strategies that consider the mental well-being of individuals and groups. This role aims to enhance the autonomy of clients while collaborating within a multidisciplinary team to interpret behaviors and professional practices effectively.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement intervention strategies for preventive or therapeutic purposes, in accordance with the organizational mission.
  • Assess and analyze the needs and/or requests for intervention.
  • Formulate a diagnosis regarding the psychological profile of clients and provide treatment for symptoms within their psychological context (including therapeutic interviews or participation in group therapy).
  • Conduct psychological evaluations (data collection, interviews, synthesis, feedback, etc.).
  • Provide individual or group support for clients and their surroundings (support groups, training, etc.).
  • Deliver psychotherapeutic follow-up as part of the individualized care plan for clients.
  • Assist in understanding and addressing issues affecting clients through interviews and group activities (training, support, practice analysis).
  • Prepare reports, project documentation, and activity summaries.
  • Engage in research, teaching, and training initiatives.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of quality and risk management practices.

  • Familiar with psychological and clinical assessment tools.
  • Understand psychological concepts that define individual functioning and various theoretical frameworks.
  • Capable of applying techniques for facilitation, training, and mentoring.
  • Skilled in conducting individual and group interviews.
  • Knowledgeable about administrative and legal regulations relevant to the field.
  • Familiar with the organizational mission and able to reference it appropriately.
  • Aware of the institutional environment and able to engage with internal and external partners.
  • Proficient in project management methodologies.
  • Committed to maintaining confidentiality in professional practice.

SKILLS

  • Assess psychological development and determine the clinical profile of clients through evaluations, interviews, and observations to identify suitable assistance.
  • Observe, listen, and analyze the circumstances and narratives of individuals.
  • Formulate appropriate responses to identified issues in collaboration with involved parties.
  • Intervene with clients in accordance with their individualized care plans and within the scope of practice.
  • Identify high-risk situations and contribute to their management by relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain a supportive relationship while addressing the challenges faced by clients in a therapeutic context.
  • Notify relevant parties about relational difficulties experienced by clients, based on their areas of expertise.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve professional practice (quality assurance, ongoing education, research, etc.).
  • Report any detected abusive behaviors towards clients.
  • Enhance professional experience and skills by participating in the development of service projects.

  • Communicate information clearly and appropriately, both in writing and verbally, according to the context.

  • Maintain a professional relationship with clients to ensure effective psychotherapeutic follow-up.

Educational Background

  • Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology, Pathological Psychology, Gerontology, Childhood, and Adolescence.
  • Master’s Degree in Occupational Psychology.
