Role Overview
As a Pricing Specialist, you will be instrumental in managing all bid and quote activities. Your primary responsibility will be to process and deliver multi-modal pricing responses for both air and ocean transportation, tailored to meet various business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement pricing processes and maintain service level agreements with the branch network to fulfill the pricing requirements of commercial resources while preserving pricing data within our bid ecosystem.
- Handle, complete, and respond to daily pricing inquiries in line with assigned deadlines or service level agreements for both new and existing customers across specific modes, products, or trade lanes.
- Conduct thorough checks and balances of bid submissions and awards, ensuring accurate uploads to our Bid Ecosystem.
- Administer certain websites based on opportunities, utilizing administration tools for setup, registration, and document management.
- Regularly monitor and report monthly progress towards established goals and key performance indicators (KPIs) to management.
- Assist branch offices with any pricing-related issues, troubleshooting, and resolving problems associated with bid awards.
- Analyze data from diverse sources to derive insights and formulate effective pricing strategies.
- Align capacity measurements from current drayage providers to ensure operational execution is feasible.
- Establish and nurture relationships with existing suppliers while identifying new suppliers who can meet our operational needs more efficiently.
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of capabilities at each warehouse facility, including types of products permitted for storage and associated costs in each market to facilitate effective customer solutions and competitive rates.
- Collaborate with internal sales and pricing teams, participate in discussions with customers regarding pricing and analysis reports, and maintain regular communication with management on the status of pricing opportunities and initiatives aimed at enhancing pricing activities.
Qualifications
Required:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in operations, customer service, or pricing.
- Fluency in both French and English.
Preferred:
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Commercial experience within C.H. Robinson or relevant external logistics experience.
- Ability to work collaboratively across functions and effectively influence and partner with others.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated skills in prioritization, time management, and attention to detail.
- Proven decision-making, problem-solving, and conflict resolution abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks effectively.
