The Ceded Reinsurance Strategy and Analytics Expert will be responsible for developing and implementing the reinsurance strategy for AXA XL's Casualty and Professional product areas. This includes defining the placement strategy, designing the ceded programs, and working closely with AXA XL stakeholders and AXA Global Re to ensure effective execution of the treaty program.

Key Responsibilities:

Reinsurance Strategy:
  • Develop and implement the reinsurance strategy for AXA XL's Casualty and Professional product areas.
  • Design and implement the ceded programs for AXA XL.
  • Work closely with AXA XL stakeholders and AXA Global Re to ensure effective execution of the treaty program.
  • Represent Ceded Re function in the Business Unit's Reinsurance Committees.
  • Capture feedback and refine the final reinsurance structure proposition.
  • Submit the final reinsurance structure proposition to the AXA XL Reinsurance Committee for validation.
  • Define & recommend options for the RI budget allocation.
  • Remain current on coverage and legal trends to ensure contracts protect the company.
  • Work with AXA XL Risk Management to design ad hoc reinsurance structures.
  • Support Treasury to design intra-group reinsurance structures.

Analytics:
  • Perform scenario modelling and actuarial studies on the existing AXA XL reinsurance structure.
  • Conduct ongoing performance analysis of the current reinsurance structure.
  • Contribute to the elaboration of presentation packs shared with brokers & reinsurers.
  • Develop and enhance processes and metrics for ceded reinsurance transactions.
  • Contribute to internal thought leadership on capital allocation and optimization.
  • Engage in ongoing research and analysis for proprietary insights.

Collaboration:
  • Guarantee collaboration with AXA XL underwriters, actuaries, operations, claims, and finance team members.
  • Liaise with other Ceded Re teams and AXA XL/AXA Group stakeholders.
  • Ensure understanding of the Ceded program by key stakeholders.
  • Interact with reinsurers & brokers to address specific requests.
  • Provide opinions on the reinsurance contract's terms and conditions.
