We are seeking a highly skilled Exterior Building Design Specialist to join our team at Socotec. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of exterior building designs, from below grade to rooftops.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough field reviews and progress inspections on designated projects to identify potential constructability or installation issues.
- Develop and maintain detailed reports, documents, schedules, and estimates to track project activity.
- Perform weekly project field observations, including below grade waterproofing, below slab vapor barriers, and building cladding inspections.
- Coordinate contractual issues and direct workers to perform repairs when non-conformance occurs.
- Draft Construction Field Directives, Professional Service Agreements, and Scopes of Work.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering (Architectural, Civil, or Mechanical preferred).
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience working with building envelope design, inspection, development, and/or engineering.
- Working knowledge of current codes and standards, including waterproofing and exterior cladding.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in MS Office and modeling/drafting software (AutoCAD, Revit, BIM).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Infra-Red, Wind Uplift Chamber, Air Barrier Testing, and Window Testing.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification.
