Position Overview

The role of the Safety Engineer is pivotal in maintaining the integrity of nuclear operations. This position involves a variety of responsibilities aimed at ensuring compliance with safety and criticality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage ongoing safety activities, providing support to operational staff, facilitating employee training, and ensuring the validation of activities.
  • Conduct and supervise additional criticality assessments to assist with specific demonstrations that may not be included in the existing operational guidelines.
  • Revise and enhance operational documentation or perform comprehensive analyses to confirm adherence to safety and criticality protocols.
  • Collaborate with operators, the safety department, and regulatory bodies to thoroughly update the facility's safety and criticality guidelines.

This role is essential for the effective operation of processes in alignment with established safety and criticality requirements.

Candidate Qualifications

  • A Master's degree (BAC+5) or equivalent in fields such as general physics, safety, criticality, neutronics, or atomic engineering is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in nuclear safety is preferred, although entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.
  • Must possess strong organizational skills, be detail-oriented, analytical, innovative, a team player, and demonstrate accountability.
  • Participation in national security activities necessitates a background check for all employees.
