About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Industrial Engineer to join our industrial engineering team for factory logistics engineering. You will lead the design of the most automated battery manufacturing process in the world.

Responsibilities
  • Lead industrial automation system/machine topics, including ASRS, stacker cranes, automated conveying systems, AGVs, and 3-axis gantries.
  • Lead project engineering tasks for the new giga factory plant, including design review, manufacturing coordination, FAT, installation, and commissioning.
  • Improve factory processes with process improvement projects after hardware installation, focusing on reducing labor and scrap costs while increasing machine availability and utilization.
  • Define requirements and specifications for plant engineering simulation studies.
  • Design and validate intercommunication protocols between software and machines for optimal productivity.
Requirements
  • MS in Engineering
  • 8+ years of experience in factory logistics
  • Experience with AGVs, conveyors, and other transport vehicles
  • Experience in manufacturing environments with high-volume products
  • Experience in factory layout design to reduce footprint and optimize manufacturing processes
  • Experience in design and development of logistic software and hardware for unmanned fully automated manufacturing plants
  • Basic knowledge in CAD software tools, specifically AutoCAD 2D for layout drafting
  • Strong knowledge in industrial engineering ERP software
  • Data processing and analysis skills using MS Excel, Minitab, MATLAB, or Python
  • English language proficiency
  • Relocation to the Gigafactory site in Dunkirk may be required
