The Project Quality Manager is responsible for managing the Quality function within the Project. This role reports to the Project Stream Quality Manager and is accountable for supporting the implementation of quality strategy and program, improving the management system, and developing competent quality technical resources.
The Project Quality Manager has management responsibility and expectations to enhance the performance of regional projects through the respective project delivery stream. This includes interfacing with Subsea Integrated Alliance (SIA) and being the nominated key personnel on a regional SIA project.
The Project Quality Manager will engage and work with regional HSEQ Directors, Project Managers, and Quality teams to ensure the delivery of resources, processes, and support for efficient projects in the regions. This includes overseeing the recruitment of Quality staff for projects and their development while working on the project.
The Project Quality Manager is responsible for monitoring, assessing, and following up on Quality performance across their respective project stream. They will drive a structured approach to Continual Improvement relating to Quality aspects to reduce cost and inefficiencies within the project stream.
The Project Quality Manager will undertake an active and visible role in the day-to-day oversight of our safety performance and ensure our Safety Value is delivered consistently throughout the region.
Key Responsibilities & Activities
- Contributes to the strategy, direction, and leadership of the HSSEQ Function.
- Supports and participates in the Group and Regional focus to drive Predictable Performance and a sustainable reduction in Cost of Loss.
- Supports the Project Stream Quality Manager and regional Senior Quality Manager to incorporate the vision, strategies, and objectives of the wider region.
- Supports the Project Stream Quality Manager and regional Senior Quality Manager to drive the standardisation, compliance, governance, and efficiency of quality functional/business policies, processes, and systems across the region.
- Provides technical and business input to the quality function.
- Focuses on enhanced Client collaboration, working with key global clients to deliver both Subsea7 and Client quality objectives and drivers.
- Monitors the implementation of and adherence to Subsea7's Management System, professional tools, policies, systems, and processes within designated areas of responsibility.
- Provides input to budget and is accountable for controlling costs and meeting budget at the functional level.
- Drives the compliance to significant deviation management process on projects.
- Provides direction, leadership, supervision, and mentoring to direct reports and indirect reports within the quality function.
- Built for the future by supporting the development of quality functional reports through professional and career development, continued professional training, mentoring, and on-the-job development, and develops appropriate succession and development plans.
- Reviews and controls the project performance of the quality function.
- Champions the Group and Regional approach to improve performance through Continual Improvement.
- Contributes to creating and championing a culture of quality Leadership by acting as a catalyst for incremental change in quality performance, fostering excellent working relationships with other internal functions.
- Ensures the project quality function capitalises on lessons learned and is performed in accordance with best practice, striving to mitigate risk, promote safety, and integrity consistently.
- Develops and fosters a constructive and professional relationship with all stakeholders.
Key Qualifications/Experience
- Professional qualifications - Degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or equivalent.
- Solid experience in project quality management.
- Auditing and Quality Management qualification, preferably IRCA certified lead assessor.
- Knowledge of the subsea, offshore, or a related industry is highly valued, but not mandatory.
