Job Overview:

As a Leather Goods Prototyper at myCTC, you will play a pivotal role in the development of high-quality leather products. Your expertise will be essential in collaborating with various stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage closely with project managers and clients from the inception of projects to ensure alignment and clarity.
  • Produce aesthetic mockups, iterating through multiple designs until final approval is achieved.
  • Propose alternative materials, techniques, and processes while balancing style, feasibility, quality, and cost considerations.
  • Define the operational workflow by outlining the list and sequence of tasks, working alongside methods teams to create accurate time sheets.
  • Evaluate material and component usage for effective product industrialization.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical documentation for workshop handover.
  • Demonstrate the ability to create specialized pieces across various product lines (including leather goods, small leather items, luggage, etc.) under tight deadlines and using diverse materials.

Qualifications: A Professional Baccalaureate or Bachelor's degree in leather goods design and production, or equivalent internal training in prototyping.

Experience: Demonstrated experience in creating mockups and prototypes for leather goods and small leather items. Proficiency in digital design and patterning software for soft products is essential. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a leather prototyper, preferably within luxury brands or high-end subcontractors. Familiarity with cutting, preparation, and assembly machinery is also required.
