Flexcity is a pioneering company in the field of electrical flexibility aggregation, leading the way in the Benelux and France regions. Our core business revolves around supporting the balance of the European electricity grid through the operation of our large portfolio of fully automated flexible assets.

This portfolio encompasses a diverse range of assets, including batteries, power generation units, and major industrial sites. We are also integrating renewable energy sources into our portfolio, unlocking new revenue streams for emerging technologies.

Job Description

As a Data Team Lead at Flexcity, you will be instrumental in driving our data-driven decision-making processes. You will lead, mentor, and inspire a team of talented data professionals, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.

Your responsibilities will span the entire data lifecycle, from strategy and architecture to analysis and insights delivery. Specifically, you will:

  1. Lead and manage a team of data analysts, engineers, and scientists, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and career development opportunities.
  2. Develop and implement the data strategy, roadmap, and architecture to support the organization's goals and objectives.
  3. Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines, ensuring data quality, integrity, and accessibility.
  4. Collaborate with portfolio and product teams across the organization to understand their data needs and translate them into actionable insights.
  5. Lead the development and implementation of data governance policies and procedures to ensure data security, privacy, and compliance.
  6. Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging technologies in the data and analytics space, identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement.
  7. Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making across the organization, promoting the use of data to drive business outcomes.

Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Solid experience in data science.
  • Good knowledge of the energy domain.
  • A passion for learning and staying up-to-date with industry trends.
  • A strong team spirit and ability to lead and mentor a team.
  • A pragmatic and professional attitude, with a focus on delivering high-quality work.

Nice to have:

  • First management experience.
  • Technical environment experience, including development in Python and Git/Gitlab.
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform, including Cloud functions, BigQuery, Grafana/Datastudio/Looker, and continuous integration and deployment.
