Key Responsibilities:
As part of the Safety division, you will collaborate with a team of HSE Design engineers specializing in Safety, Risk Assessment, Environmental Health, and Noise & Vibration, working on various Technip Energies projects across sectors such as oil and gas, petrochemicals, energy transition, mining, and pharmaceuticals.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Identifying and assessing Major Accident Events,
- Designing and implementing preventive, control, and mitigation strategies,
- Ensuring safe design practices that protect personnel, the environment, and assets,
through the following activities and deliverables:
- Conducting preliminary risk assessments,
- Reviewing plot plans and 3D models,
- Identifying Safety Critical Elements (SCEs) and their Criticality ratings,
- Classifying hazardous areas,
- Implementing passive fire protection measures,
- Establishing cold spill protection protocols,
- Designing active fire protection systems, including firewater pump stations and deluge systems,
- Developing detection systems for flammable and toxic gases,
- Ensuring personnel protection measures,
- Planning escape, evacuation, and rescue strategies,
- Specifying and requisitioning firefighting and personnel protection equipment, as well as evaluating technical bids and managing vendor relationships.
Please note that all quantitative analyses related to Design Explosion Loads and RAM fall outside the scope of Safety within the Paris organization and are part of Risk Assessment activities.
You are expected to produce high-quality deliverables while considering project constraints, including contractual obligations, budget, and timelines.
Additionally, you may be tasked with reviewing deliverables from colleagues and supervising junior Safety engineers.
It is essential to formalize and share your expertise by facilitating training sessions, delivering technical presentations, and contributing to R&D initiatives.

Candidate Profile:
As a Chartered Engineer with a background in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or Safety Engineering, you possess over six years of substantial experience in Safety engineering across the oil and gas, petrochemical, energy transition, mining, or pharmaceutical sectors. You thrive in a multicultural environment and exhibit qualities such as energy, proactivity, diligence, independence, adaptability, and strong interpersonal skills. Your communication abilities are excellent, and you are proficient in English. International travel may be required.
