Job Description:

ENGIE is seeking a highly skilled HSE Manager to join our Renewable Gases Europe team. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and environmental (HSE) performance of our biomethane production projects across Europe.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create, update, and communicate RGE HSE processes, procedures, and templates for project execution in compliance with ENGIE Health and Safety Policy and Group Rules.
  • Deploy RGE HSE processes and procedures to RGE project execution activities.
  • Contribute to defining the HSE strategy and structuring assumptions for projects during the pre-construction phase.
  • Contribute to defining specific instructions for particular operations exposed to major risks.
  • Develop project/site-specific HSE documents and support their implementation.
  • Train Site Managers, Execution Project Managers, and other applicable positions on the ENGIE One Safety Culture program.
  • Participate in HSE ENGIE community and HSE Biomethane community meetings.
  • Establish positive relationships with internal team members and relevant contractors' representatives.
  • Provide support to contractors and internal team members for understanding and implementing HSE-related processes and tools.
  • Create training material and perform formal training sessions and tests.
  • Ensure systems are in place to monitor compliance and detect deviations.
  • Verify HSE-related documentation from suppliers and contractors to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and ENGIE rules.
  • Analyze the causes of lost-time accidents, HiPo, or specific health and safety events and help define an appropriate action plan.
  • Perform internal and external audits and checks, coordinating the closure of non-conformances.
  • Implement follow-up registers and deploy KPI dashboards for HSE monitoring.
  • Comply with reporting requirements and deadlines, coordinating the efforts of others and consolidating data as applicable.
  • Capitalize on and disseminate project feedback on HSE.
  • Recruit Project HSE Advisors in line with the growth of the execution team.
  • Lead and manage the Projects HSE team.
  • Assign HSE resources to project teams, maintaining line management and performance responsibility.

Requirements:

  • Health and safety qualification recognized by a reputable enforcing authority.
  • At least 5 years' experience in a HSE role for industrial projects in an EPC or contractor organization, preferably on an international scale.
  • Several years' experience in construction sites, developing and implementing construction and commissioning HSE processes and procedures.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Health and Safety for construction projects, including risk assessment and auditing.
  • Ability to work in English, interacting with international teams.
  • Knowledge of French will be an advantage.

Location:

One of RGE units, with a number of days of teleworking as per local policy, and regular travels to other RGE units and project locations within Europe.
