The Senior Software Development Manager will be responsible for leading the development of software solutions related to simulation, ensuring they meet the current and future needs of the company. Key responsibilities include:

Managing Software Projects:

  • Lead and manage a team of software developers to deliver high-quality software that meets user needs.
  • Act as a technical lead, providing guidance and mentorship to the team, and contributing to the codebase.
  • Work with stakeholders and product owners to ensure delivery against agreed priorities.
  • Ensure software is robust, efficient, and maintainable.
  • Maintain the company's technological lead in GPGPU computing for sound pressure mapping calculations.
  • Identify and recommend technologies that will support the future success of the business.
  • Proactively manage technical debt by identifying issues, creating action plans, and coordinating with the product owner.
  • Evolving the architecture to adapt to new use cases and emerging requirements.
  • Work closely with directors and other heads to define and enforce state-of-the-art implementation, design, and architecture.
  • Work closely with the head of software validation to define and enforce state-of-the-art test plans.
  • Implement mechanisms to monitor and report on the progress of software development activities.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing the software development team.
  • Act as a leader, engaging the team and thinking collectively.
  • Generate enthusiasm and keep the team informed of the overall schedule and changes.
  • Develop, coach, and train the team on best practices, processes, and standards as needed.
  • Support the team, ask regularly, and resolve breakdowns.
  • Evaluate individual performance and give credit, provide appropriate recognition, and constructive feedback.

Working as Part of a Global Team:

  • Lead and manage stakeholder communication and requirements.
  • Interface with other project teams to ensure clear and timely communication of project deliverables and status.
  • Communicate if deliverables cannot be attained and get consensus on steps forward with relevant stakeholders.
  • Establish close working relationships with discipline leads.
  • Report status at regular intervals and escalate urgent issues in a timely manner.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in computer science.
  • 7+ years of experience in software development.
  • Proficient in C++ programming language.
  • Good spoken and written English.
  • Excellent analytical skills, perseverance, and attention to detail.
  • Curious, eager to learn, and quickly adapt to new requirements and technologies.
  • Autonomous with a strong sense of responsibility.
