Within our Alstom Digital & Integrated Systems division, the Saint-Ouen Development Centre is responsible for designing Alstom's Urban CBTC Signaling Solutions: Urbalis 400, a system implemented in over 100 projects globally, and Urbalis Fluence, our latest and most innovative Urban Signaling System.
The Solution Application Architects serve as the technical leaders responsible for defining the technical solutions for our Urban Signaling System tenders and overseeing the application of these solutions during the project deployment phase.
They play a crucial role in outlining the future direction of our Signaling System in upcoming applications, aligning with platform reuse strategies and market demands.
Leading the design of Urban Signaling Systems is a complex challenge that necessitates a comprehensive understanding of intricate systems, general engineering expertise, and the ability to balance cutting-edge railway contexts with contemporary technical challenges such as cybersecurity, ecodesign, and data science.
The responsibilities of the Solution Application Architects include:
- Crafting the optimal design proposal and deployment strategy to fulfill customer expectations.
- Communicating technical requirements and reaching consensus on solutions with Alstom's tender and project teams, customer interface teams, development teams, and strategic leaders.
- Advocating for and elucidating our Systems and their technical benefits to potential or existing customers, as well as internally during training or communication sessions.
- Contributing as System Experts to other Signaling Innovation Programs at Alstom.
As the Solution Application Architect Group Manager, your role will encompass:
- Hierarchical management of Solution Application Architects.
- Leading the Tendering activities and technical proposals for the St-Ouen Development Center.
- Assisting in the formulation of the Urbalis Technical Roadmap (for Urbalis 400 and Fluence) and spearheading roadmap topics arising from tenders and future developments.
- Acting as a Technical Authority and System Engineering Expert, monitoring critical Urbalis tenders and preliminary Design Reviews, and evaluating overall solution adequacy.
- Leading cross-functional technical topics as a System Engineering Expert.
WHAT IS YOUR PROFILE?
- Holder of a master's degree in Engineering or equivalent university qualification, preferably with a focus on Rail Transportation Systems.
- Desired experience: 10 or more years in a similar role (complex system architecture, system design, project engineering, validation, or operational safety) within a Transport organization; experience in Rail Signaling is a plus.
- Proficient in resolving technical challenges: with diligence, critical thinking, and an analytical mindset, combined with creativity, you can synthesize various aspects of a technical issue and make informed decisions independently.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and a passion for collaborative work, alongside technical management; you thrive in team environments and technical coordination, are comfortable presenting to clients, and are motivated by multicultural settings.
- Proficiency in English is essential.
