Position Overview
The role of a Senior Firmware Engineer for Connectivity Solutions is crucial in advancing NXP Semiconductors' mission to enable secure connections for a smarter world. As a leader in secure connectivity solutions for embedded applications, NXP is at the forefront of innovation across various sectors including automotive, industrial, IoT, mobile, and communication infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage in the design and implementation of innovative Bluetooth Link Layer functionalities.
- Guarantee the quality of software through rigorous testing and adherence to development protocols.
- Contribute to the formulation and execution of Link Layer integration strategies.
- Provide support to customers to ensure optimal use of connectivity solutions.
Your Team
The NXP Edge Processing Connectivity Software team is a diverse and international group, fostering an open and collaborative environment. You will be based in a dynamic location and will report to the Link Layer Software Manager.
Candidate Profile
To excel in this position, candidates should possess:
- A minimum of 5 years of practical experience in developing core features for link layer or MAC software, with at least 2 years focused on Bluetooth Link Layer.
- A solid understanding of Wireless Communications technologies (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Thread, ZigBee) and Networking Protocols (IP, UDP, TCP).
- Proficiency in C programming.
- A degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or a related discipline.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
Additionally, the ideal candidate will have:
- A deep understanding of microcontroller architectures and their peripherals.
- Knowledge of real-time operating systems (RTOS).
- The ability to interpret mixed signal PCB schematics.
- Familiarity with the A-Spice process is advantageous.
