We are seeking a highly motivated PhD researcher to join our team at INSA de LYON. The successful candidate will be part of the EU-funded Marie Sklodowska-Curie Doctoral Researcher project "Material Science Innovation for Accelerated, Sustainable and Safe Implementation of Carbon Capture and Storage" (MISSION-CCS).
The project aims to develop a unique, material science-based approach to understanding materials and solvent degradation mechanisms in the field of Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS). The researcher will work on developing new systems, methodologies, and technologies for assessing material degradation in CCS, as well as exploring innovative control strategies and incorporating an understanding of the associated techno-economics.
The successful candidate will have a Master's degree in Materials Sciences or Chemical engineering and excellent electrochemistry/materials laboratory skills. They will also have a strong motivation and good collaborative skills, as well as excellent English skills, written and spoken.
The position is a fixed-term position limited to a period of 3 years. The start date is negotiable. The employment is conditioned upon the applicant's successful enrolment as a PhD student at the Ecole Doctorale Matériaux at the INSA - Lyon 1 University.
