Join our Finance Team as a seasoned Lead Financial Accounting and Tax Advisor dedicated to enhancing excellence in financial operations. This position will involve providing accounting expertise for intricate operational accounting domains, including methodologies, closing validations, process enhancements, and internal reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in IFRS closing activities and reporting, including analytical assessments of outcomes and comprehensive checks.
- Assist in the budgeting process and monitor costs effectively.
- Support the line manager with specific tasks and unique cases as per directives.
- Collaborate with other managerial staff.
- Ensure robust internal controls over accounting practices.
- Prepare the Financial statements and disclosures for the organization.
- Suggest and spearhead the implementation of accounting improvements, simplifications, and automation.
- Provide methodological guidance aligned with VIG Re's operational needs and VIG regulations across all areas (Reinsurance accounting, international taxation, financial accounting and closing, securities, expenses).
- Ensure strong internal controls over accounting.
- Mentor and assist junior team members.
Desired Qualifications:
- Educational background in economics, general administration, or accounting.
- Extensive knowledge and experience with IFRS standards and tax regulations.
- Fundamental understanding of Czech tax laws, particularly in VAT and international taxation.
- Proven experience in preparing financial statements, disclosures, and group reporting.
- Familiarity with the specifics of Reinsurance Accounting and common reinsurance transactions is advantageous.
- Strong analytical abilities.
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar role or 5 years as a specialist.
- Proficiency in accounting software (preferably SAP).
- Advanced skills in MS Office applications.
- Experience in guiding junior colleagues.
- Proficiency in Czech is essential.
- Knowledge of English, German, or French is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
