Job Title: Solar Engineer
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Solar Engineer to join our team at EDP Energias de Portugal S.A. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the design process of assigned projects, providing technical support to the development phase, contracting, and construction phase, in accordance with the directives of the head of the department and applicable regulations.
Main Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the preparation of technical projects for the development of renewable energy generation plants and electrical interconnection infrastructure.
- Prepare projects infrastructures layouts and provide CAPEX estimations.
- Select specialized external engineering companies when applicable.
- Provide technical support to the development phase when required.
- Participate in the design of the electrical infrastructure of the generation plants for the interconnection to the electric network common infrastructure with other developers/operators.
- Prepare the required documentation for grid access and connection applications and grid code compliance.
- Provide technical support in the consenting process.
- Coordinate and validate with other Technology Units the execution of specific key studies for its integration in the engineering project.
- Coordinate and ensure the development and application of technical standardization in the concerned geography.
- Coordinate the preparation of technical packages to deliver to Procurement for the construction Request for Proposals (RfPs) of renewable energy generation plants and electrical interconnection infrastructure.
- Provide support to the Procurement Department in the clarification discussions with bidders and award negotiations when required.
- Make an optimum transfer of projects under Engineering responsibility to the Construction unit.
- Assist in the evaluation and resolution of any proposed modifications of the final engineering project raised during the construction phase.
- Provide support to the due diligence process for new projects under study within the concerned geography.
- Understand and apply policies to prevent occupational hazards, environment, and quality to ensure implementation and compliance on tasks under their responsibility.
- Represent EDPR to agencies and institutions, public and private, in matters relating to its jurisdiction to enforce the interests of EDPR.
Requirements:
- Master of Science (Electrical Engineering) / Diplôme d'Ingénieur
- At least 3-4-year experience in /Solar PV Power Plants
- PV Plants, Medium voltage Substations projects
- Knowledge of International technical normative
- Use of CAD softwares (Civil3D and PVCase preferably)
- Ability to perform duties in a collaborative, multi-national working environment
- High attention to detail
- Strong statistical and analytical skills
- Problem-solving and open-minded attitude
- Communicative and sociable
- Available to travel punctually (1 or 2 days per month) in France, Belgium or Spain
- La maitrise du français et de l'anglais à l'oral comme à l'écrit est indispensable
