Orbital Mission Simulator Developer

At Dark, we are committed to safeguarding the realm of space by pioneering innovative spacecraft and mission designs. Our mission is to protect vital orbits and assets through advanced engineering.

We are seeking a talented Orbital Mission Simulator Developer to join our software department. As a key member of our team, you will participate in the development of our Software-In-The-Loop and Hardware-In-The-Loop capabilities. Your responsibilities will include developing new simulator features, interfacing with the GNC team to gather adequate models, and working with the avionics team to design the interface with operational boards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Developing emulated capacities to enable complete testing of software and electronic boards
  • Creating ROS-based packages to emulate sensors/actuators interfaces
  • Defining requirements and coordinating the development of electronic boards to interface spacecraft components
  • Implementing Hardware-In-the-Loop tests of Avionics components
  • Integrating Simulink plant model blocks into a C++ framework
  • Interfacing with and supporting GNC and electronics teams
  • Contributing to software processes and tools to meet high-quality engineering standards
  • Identifying commonalities with the Ground Segment software suite
Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience in software development (experience in V&V processes is a plus)
  • Ideal background from the Defense/Aerospace industry (e.g. MBDA, Thales, Dassault, Safran, etc.)
  • Theoretical and applied skills in C++ and Python programming languages
  • Knowledge of ROS
  • Hands-on experience with real-time applications
  • Basic understanding of electronics and low-layer software
  • Basic understanding of GNC and spacecraft flight dynamics
  • As we have an international team, knowledge of technical English is required. Fluency in French is a plus
