About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of our climate risk modeling platform. As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data pipelines and architectures that support our climate risk modeling efforts.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement data pipelines and architectures to support climate risk modeling
- Develop and maintain data storage and processing systems to support climate risk modeling
- Collaborate with data scientists and software engineers to develop and deploy climate risk models
- Work with DevOps engineers to ensure the reliable deployment and operation of climate risk models
- Automate data flows and notifications to support climate risk monitoring and reporting
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering with a focus on cloud-based data platforms
- Proficiency in Python programming and experience with data engineering tools such as Apache Airflow and Docker
- Experience with cloud providers such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Strong understanding of data storage and processing systems, including relational databases and NoSQL databases
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Experience working with climate-related data and models
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools, such as continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD)
- Experience with machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies
