Master Data Architect

The Master Data Architect will design, create, deploy, and manage Imerys' master data architecture and associated business rules. This includes defining how data will be stored, consumed, integrated, and managed by different data bodies and IT systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to understand MDM requirements and challenges.
- Design, configure, and develop tangible solutions using various MDM technologies.
- Deploy and maintain Imerys' master data model, including entities, fields, interfaces, and metadata.
- Align with the BI roadmap and future priorities for Commercial, Sustainability, Purchasing, HR, and Operations domains.
- Collaborate with other MDM experts to assist with the monitoring and preservation of the quality of the master data.
- Analyze needs and develop architecture/specifications of interfaces with other systems in terms of data management to improve data agility.
- Contribute to the Data Governance initiative and framework definition to align people, processes, and technologies to current and future data challenges.
- Be responsible for metadata architecture, including data relationships.
- Ensure that data integration from IT applications provides the expected data and liaise with IT System Owners if adjustments are needed.
- Accompany other projects related to data to ensure compliance with Data Management standards.
- Coordinate, develop, maintain, and communicate the data documentation initiative: data catalog, data glossary, data dictionary, data lineage, and documentation on metadata.
- Promote data model and adherence to global governance practices, as well as drive acceptance of globally accepted data standards and policies.
- Provide out-of-the-box thinking/solutions for optimization topics and accompany change management when needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of Data Architecture experience leading MDM architecture roadmaps, defined business cases, and implementations efforts.
- Strong business and technical background in the area of Master & Reference Data Management.
- Proven ability to gather business requirements, solution design with technical teams, and write functional specification documents, including business rules, match and merge rules, survivorship rules, etc.
- Capable of analyzing complex problems, including identifying root cause issues, generating a concise summary of analysis.
- Hands-on experience with business processes across multiple master data domains.
- Must be comfortable presenting complex technology subjects to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
- Demonstrate strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Ability to see the big picture and then break down into tactical solutions/actions.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to persuade/influence others at all levels of the organization.
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects and duties of different urgency and importance at the same time.
