Position Overview

Exciting Opportunity: Senior Process Engineer

Role Summary: Contribute to the advancement of turbine island design by collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and the supply chain under the guidance of the Turbine Island Lead.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Representation: Ensure that supplier outputs align with specifications, critically evaluating designs as needed.
  • Design Development: Produce and assess Process Flow Diagrams, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams, Layout Drawings, Component Sizing Calculations, and Specifications.
  • Decision Analysis: Conduct and review studies and design documentation.
  • Systems Engineering: Formulate and evaluate functional and design requirements.
  • Integration: Effectively incorporate Turbine Island design into the overall power plant framework.
  • Technical Expertise: Act as the primary resource for Turbine Island interface and stakeholder interactions.
  • Safety and Compliance: Assist in Design Reviews, HAZID/HAZOP studies, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety Policies.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate with safety teams regarding nuclear safety licensing and environmental compliance.
Qualifications
  • Experience: Background in the nuclear industry or other regulated sectors such as thermal power generation, oil, and gas.
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with steam turbines, condensers, feedwater heaters, pumps, and piping systems.
  • Project Execution: Experience from Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) through to detailed design and Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) delivery.
  • Procurement and Supplier Engagement: Proficient in developing procurement specifications and collaborating with suppliers.
  • Communication Skills: Strong abilities for engaging with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Safety Awareness: Knowledge of UK Health and Safety regulations, safety systems, and HAZOP methodologies.
  • Standards Knowledge: Understanding of ASME, European, and UK standards.
  • Systems Engineering: Experience or awareness in this area is desirable.
