Department Head

The City of St. Charles is seeking a highly skilled professional to lead our public works management team and oversee the efficient operation and maintenance of our electric utility.

• Coordinate divisional projects to ensure timely and within-budget execution of work, including oversight of contractors.
• Develop and implement project management strategies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Collaborate with subordinates, coworkers, contractors, management, and external agencies to achieve project goals.
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
• Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and performance metrics to inform decision-making.

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction, business, or a closely related field.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills to build rapport with stakeholders.
• Proficiency in computer applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, GIS, and asset management systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Salary range: $95,000 - $130,000, with starting pay commensurate with experience.
