Eiffage Génie Civil is a leading player in the construction industry, with a strong presence in Norway. We are currently seeking a highly skilled Site Engineer to join our team in Kristiansand, Norway.

Your Role

As a Site Engineer, you will be responsible for coordinating the work of site superintendents and ensuring effective and efficient production within set timescales. You will report to the Construction Manager and be responsible for:

  • Ensuring effective and efficient production within set timescales
  • Managing/coordinating work of subordinates and sub-contractors within area of responsibility
  • Updating the works program for area of responsibility, reporting promptly to the construction manager any problems, which may lead to time delays against the works program
  • Cost control of each sub-contract
  • Getting approval from the construction manager for additional works, providing a description of the variation and cost
  • Coordinating/attending meetings with the sub-contractors
  • Liaising as required with the safety officer and health and safety manager, reporting matters of substance to the construction manager
  • Ensuring the company's health and safety working practices are always followed on site
  • Complying with company policies and procedures
  • Assisting in checking the progress schedules and if necessary modifying them along the lines suggested by the construction manager
  • Assisting the technical/method team in the preparation of method statement, inspection and test plan and work specific environmental significant aspects
  • Controlling and monitoring the quality of manufacturing as per specifications and approved model or sample
  • Stopping workers from performing any unsafe or pollution act
  • Ensuring lifting equipment is operated by a competent person
  • Following-up pre-job briefing for each specific work task and ensuring understanding by the subcontractors and workers
  • Opening non-conformance report and proposing solution
  • Checking all temporary equipment on arrival at site
  • Preparing and issuing notification for inspection and sign-off work inspection record once checking and verification is completed
  • Working jointly with procurement manager (provide needs and technical information)
  • Ensuring that work, once started, is carried out as planned and according to the approved method statement
  • Ensuring that dangerous substances are properly stored and controlled on site
  • Identifying and informing the construction manager in case of change during the work execution.
  • Ensuring the signature of the management of change control record is completed by the construction manager before proceeding.
  • Ensuring that pre-task meeting is performed prior to commencement of the site work. Providing instruction to establish working method, to explain the sequence of operation
  • Ensuring all subcontractors are aware of the management of change process
  • Ensuring the management of change task launch meeting minutes are attached to the management of change control record and copies QHSE department
  • Creating method statements and work control procedure in accordance to construction activities

Requirements

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Site Engineer with:

  • Engineering discipline degree
  • At least 2 to 3 years' experience of large civil engineering projects
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills
  • Good written verbal and communication skills
