Job Purpose

The Lead Artist will play a critical role in the success of our project, leading and motivating a team of talented artists to deliver high-quality assets within the Unreal Engine ecosystem.

Responsibilities
  • Lead Artistic Team: Oversee the development of high-quality urban environments and assets, ensuring consistency and excellence in all creative material.
  • Establish Art Standards: Define and implement art standards and systems, ensuring that all creative material meets the highest standards of quality and consistency.
  • Collaborate with Production: Work closely with production teams to ensure that schedules and plans meet business and project needs, and that all stakeholders are aligned with project objectives.
  • Maintain Planning Foresight: Participate in the scheduling of the project and maintain planning foresight to ensure that the team is on track to meet project deadlines.
  • Effective Communication: Maintain effective informational flow to the team, ensuring that all team members are aligned with project objectives and are aware of their roles and responsibilities.
  • Provide Feedback: Provide regular review and feedback on team work in a clear and constructive manner, encouraging creativity and participation from all team members.
  • Collaboration and Improvement: Maintain efficient collaboration between team members and other dependent teams or external partners, actively participating in the constant improvement of work methods and pipelines.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Share knowledge and recommend best practices in the area of operation, ensuring that all team members have the skills and expertise needed to deliver high-quality results.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that produced and integrated assets respect the artistic vision of the game and meet the highest standards of quality.
Requirements
  • 5+ Years' Experience: Proven experience as an artist or animator, with a strong portfolio of work that demonstrates expertise in game art.
  • Industry Knowledge: Very good knowledge of Unreal Engine, with a keen eye for composition, proportion, and sense of scale.
  • Storytelling Ability: Strong ability to tell stories through level art and propping scenes, with a solid understanding of industry-standard 3D modeling packages and texture and material creation workflows.
  • Performance Optimization: Ability to optimize the game world to meet performance requirements, with a wide range of experience in all areas of game art, including creation of backgrounds, characters, game objects, user interface, animation, and particle effects.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills and a teamwork-oriented attitude, with the ability to drive change and inspire others to generate new ideas.
  • Language Skills: Fluent in English, both verbally and written.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in art or equivalent experience.
  • Console Experience: Experience working with at least one modern console platform is an advantage.
  • Multi-Site Collaboration: Experience working in a multi-site collaboration environment is a plus.
  • Urban Environment Experience: Experience in urban environment is a plus.
