Job Description:
The Institut de la Corrosion Site de Brest is seeking a highly motivated Master student to work on the development of its activities on water electrolysis. The position is planned for the first semester of 2025 for a duration of 5 to 6 months in the Technopole of Brest, France.
Job Responsibilities:
- Investigate the corrosion behavior of various metallic materials with and without protective coatings at different potentials, pH, salinities, and temperature using electrochemical techniques.
- Characterize the coated and uncoated metals in pristine and post-mortem states using in-house tools.
- Analyze the results and contribute to the writing of scientific articles for peer-review scientific journals.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in electrochemistry, chemistry, materials science, or engineering.
- Theoretical knowledge and/or hands-on experience with electrochemistry and/or corrosion.
- Interest in the energy transition and strong analytical skills.
- Ability to work autonomously in the lab with a rigorous mindset.
- Good command of English and, ideally, of French as well.
