The International Energy Agency (IEA) is seeking a Statistics Team Lead to co-ordinate workstreams within the Energy Data Centre (EDC). The successful candidate will be responsible for improving the quality and enhancing the geographical coverage of IEA data on core energy statistics and balances.
Main Responsibilities- Support the Head of Section and the Chief Statistician in providing guidance on core energy statistics for all fuels and energy balances.
- Contribute to the development of the workplan of data releases in the area of core energy statistics and balances, including preparation of metadata.
- Supervise and train junior staff across the portfolio of annual energy statistics, providing opportunities for development, regular feedback, and coaching.
- Organise and deliver training on energy statistics as required.
- Enhance energy data and indicators across all regions, particularly non-Member countries.
- Explore innovative methods to modernise and increase the robustness of energy data and indicators.
- Co-operate with analytical and policy teams within the IEA to ensure core energy statistics and balances are well integrated into the Agency's work.
- Provide inputs to the development and maintenance of the IT infrastructure used within the Section and wider Division.
- Participate in preparations for and contribute to meetings of IEA standing committees and other groups as required.
- Support the dissemination of relevant statistical outputs published on the IEA website.
- Maintain contacts with members of national delegations, other international organisations, and representatives of industry.
- Promote the work of the Agency externally through organising and participating in workshops.
