Paris, Île-de-France INRIA Temps plein

Position Overview

The postdoctoral researcher will be integrated into the Kepler associated team, focusing on innovative solutions in the realm of multicore scheduling. Candidates are expected to have completed their Ph.D. and to have engaged in a scientific environment distinct from their doctoral studies. This role emphasizes the importance of mobility and the diversity of research backgrounds.

About INRIA and the Kopernic Team

INRIA's Paris Research Center is renowned for its collaborative efforts with leading international teams, industries, and academic institutions. The Kopernic team specializes in real-time critical systems, employing statistical and probabilistic methodologies. Our research positions us at the forefront of real-time probabilistic systems, particularly through our collaboration with the Federal University of Bahia.

Research Mission

The primary focus of this position is to advance the understanding of execution time estimation through statistical methods. Building on previous research, the aim is to explore the introduction of probabilistic worst-case execution times within multicore scheduling frameworks. This involves extending existing scheduling algorithms to accommodate probabilistic behaviors, thereby enhancing their applicability in real-time systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct a comprehensive review of current optimal multicore scheduling algorithms under real-time constraints.
  • Develop methodologies for integrating probabilistic task models and perform associated schedulability analyses.
  • Engage in numerical evaluations and energy comparisons of various solutions on benchmark programs.
  • Collaborate with the Kerdata team on potential European Union projects.
  • Contribute to scientific publications and facilitate discussions among emerging researchers within the Kepler team.

Required Qualifications

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. in Embedded Systems or a related field. Proficiency in English is essential.

Benefits

  • Subsidized meals and partial reimbursement for public transport.
  • Generous leave policy including annual leave and additional days off.
  • Flexible working hours and the option for telecommuting after a year of employment.
  • Access to professional development resources and social activities.
  • Comprehensive social security coverage.
