Role Responsibilities:

As a Cybersecurity Operations Engineer, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding our networks, systems, and applications. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Advising engineering and IT teams on security best practices, focusing on practical, risk-based approaches in areas such as:
    • Automation of security measures, hardening development processes, and ensuring supply chain security.
    • Enhancing network, VM, and container security, addressing cloud vulnerabilities.
    • Implementing endpoint security and managing identity and access protocols.
  • Conducting penetration tests on our infrastructure and collaborating with external partners for comprehensive assessments.
  • Selecting and implementing tools and methodologies to strengthen the organization's security framework, with a preference for open-source solutions.
  • Developing and promoting company-wide security standards and guidelines, alongside automation tools for their effective deployment.
  • Mentoring team members on security and infrastructure engineering best practices.

Candidate Profile:

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • A results-oriented mindset with a focus on outcome-based delivery.
  • Leadership experience within a skilled DevSecOps team, with a track record of team development.
  • Strong collaboration skills to engage with various teams, clarifying requirements and fostering communication.
  • Proficiency in a Linux-based environment, including managed VMs, SSH, and firewalls.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, and CI/CD tools like GitHub and GitLab.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, including Google Cloud and others.
  • An understanding of blockchain technologies and associated tools would be advantageous.
  • Preference for candidates residing within two hours of UTC+0, though exceptional applicants from other time zones will be considered.
