Job Summary

Barrington James is seeking a highly skilled Quantum Algorithm Researcher to join our team. As a key member of our research and development team, you will be responsible for developing and improving quantum algorithms for our upcoming quantum computers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Quantum Algorithm Development
    • Design and implement new quantum algorithms that leverage the capabilities of our quantum hardware
    • Optimize existing algorithms to improve their performance and efficiency
  • Collaboration with Industry Partners
    • Work with industry partners to identify computational challenges that can be addressed using quantum algorithms
    • Develop and implement quantum algorithms to solve these challenges
  • Research and Development
    • Conduct research on near-term quantum computing methods, including theoretical and practical applications
    • Develop and implement new quantum algorithms and techniques
  • Communication and Presentation
    • Present research results in journal articles and technical talks
    • Communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences

Requirements

  • PhD in theoretical computer science, theoretical physics, quantum information, quantum computation theory, or a closely related field
  • At least 5 years of research and/or work experience in the field, including a PhD
  • Strong background in quantum physics and its application to algorithm development
  • Experience with partial differential equations, quantum simulation, optimization, and other real-world applications of quantum techniques
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong passion for quantum computing and its potential applications
