API Management serves as a crucial framework for enterprises aiming to adopt a digital strategy, facilitating business operations centered around APIs. This solution acts as a bridge between our business objectives and technological capabilities, necessitating a comprehensive understanding of Amadeus processes related to API design, lifecycle management through our control systems, and deployment via our API gateways.
Our approach is company-wide, aimed at maximizing our expertise and software through a unified API management platform that benefits all Business Units.
Our department is tasked with the design, delivery, and operation of the API Hub product, formerly known as Amadeus For Developer, while transitioning towards a new strategic direction based on cloud platform standards and innovative creation platforms. Our goal is to provide API management capabilities as a service to any ecosystem and consumer.
Our evolution is guided by the Platform Portal and Interfaces train, part of the Creation Platform initiative, working within a SAFe framework. Our responsibilities encompass all facets related to our product, involving PDA, QA, Developers, SRE, Support, and Implementation teams across multiple locations.
We seek a Product Definition Analyst who can navigate challenges and contribute to shaping the vision and offerings of the API HUB, especially as the API landscape evolves rapidly.
Key Responsibilities:
Requirements Assessment:
Analyze business requirements provided by Product Management. Build, maintain, and disseminate functional and technical knowledge of our processes and end-user products. Contribute to the estimation of requirements. Consolidate and articulate business needs into new product concepts or enhancements. Assist stakeholders in conducting thorough analyses to ensure requirements are adequately prepared for development.Functional Design:
Draft Feasibility Studies, Solution Overview Documents, Interface Control Documents, and Product Specifications, presenting functional walkthroughs to relevant stakeholders. Collaborate with various divisions to identify interactions with other Amadeus applications, ensuring functional compatibility. Define UI/BE specifications based on business requirements while adhering to established guidelines. Work closely with developers to organize internal specification walkthroughs.API Design:
Determine the scope of APIs based on business requirements and user needs. Follow the API design process: create data models, schemas, interfaces, and protocols for APIs. Standardize resources in the Stoplight Data Dictionary and create API contracts (swagger) using Stoplight. Present API design work to the API board. Collaborate with the team and stakeholders to ensure API quality, consistency, and compatibility. Document API designs and functionalities for both internal and external consumers. Test, debug, and troubleshoot APIs, providing feedback for continuous improvement.Validation Overview:
Contribute to the implementation and review of test plans to ensure compliance with delivered functionality and system integrity. Ensure traceability of tests to specifications. Maintain production integrity by investigating, validating, and prioritizing reported incidents.Continuous Improvement:
Propose enhancements to documentation to ensure clarity and precision. Recommend process improvements for specifications, documentation, solution design, and proactive maintenance.Stakeholder Management:
Communicate effectively with Product Management and SAFe Troika. Engage with customers during requirements gathering, functional specification, testing, and implementation phases.Team Participation:
Engage in SAFe ceremonies within the team and train, including PI Planning, Stand-ups, Refinements, and Retrospectives.Ideal Candidate Profile:
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a product definition analyst. Exceptional communication skills, capable of interacting with all stakeholders (both functional and technical teams). Strong understanding of SAFe methodologies. Experience working with diverse teams across various locations. Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills. Creative and proactive mindset.
