The position is based in Neuilly-sur-Seine. As a member of the Innovation and Development team, the Active Ingredient Specialist will select and test new active ingredients, manage product claims testing, and ensure the brand's product efficacy for skincare, haircare, and makeup. You will handle projects ranging from simple to complex, involving raw materials vendor identification, marketing briefs analysis, and technical solutions selection suitable for formulations and claims testing.
Your role will leverage your technical expertise, skin physiology knowledge, and project management skills. Strong collaboration with internal teams (Marketing, Formula Development, Regulatory, Purchasing, Planning) and external partners (vendors, manufacturers, testing labs) is crucial. Success measures include timely launches, quality, capacity, cost, and strong claims delivery.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Marketing and Formula Development on briefs, ensuring technical and financial viability, and advising on formula performance.
- Work with Purchasing to meet cost and margin targets.
- Support marketing concepts scientifically, providing proof for active ingredients.
- Identify efficacious molecules, assess technical dossiers, and perform tests to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Create technical dossiers and support Marketing with technical differentiation and storytelling.
- Manage claims to ensure business impact and define test protocols with Regulatory.
- Manage ingredient samples, timelines, reporting development status, identify mitigation plans, and monitor the testing budget.
- Conduct technical watch and competition analysis on new actives and testing methods.
- Support sustainability and innovation programs and establish strong vendor relationships for new materials.
