Mechatronics Engineer

Solvay is seeking a highly skilled Mechatronics Engineer to join our Automation & Robotics team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative mechatronics systems to accelerate research and innovation programs in Solvay.

• Design and develop modular robotics systems, programming movements of 6-Axis collaborative robotic arms or linear axis in harmony with several devices.
• Program devices to create user-friendly interfaces for researchers and support stakeholders in deployment and use of the solutions.
• Collaborate with internal partners to build projects, define technical scope, timing, and budget, and prototype and design user-friendly tools.
• Interface with a global Connected Research network to ensure that a digital strategy is implemented in Solvay labs.
• Demonstrate a safety commitment/behavior and experience in Risk Analysis for safety certification with respect to Machine Directive.

• Master level or Engineer degree in one of the following areas: Robotic Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Engineering or closely related fields.
• Excellent programming skills in Python, C++ are mandatory. A first-hand experience with libraries such as OpenCV, PCL will be appreciated.
• Experience with Git-based source code repositories such as GitLab.
• Skills in 3D mechanical design will be much appreciated (SolidWorks, or open source such as FreeCAD).
