Job Title: Data Visualization Specialist

UNESCO is seeking a Data Visualization Specialist to support the Risk Compliance & Policy Unit (RCP) in enhancing the information collected on its annual Control Self-Assessment. The successful candidate will create a dashboard in Power BI based on SharePoint data, assist in redesigning the SharePoint space, and digitize key forms to streamline processes and improve data accessibility.

Key Responsibilities and Activities
  1. Develop interactive and visually appealing Power BI dashboards with meaningful insights.
  2. Connect SharePoint data and build a model for exploitation in Power BI.
  3. Ensure data accuracy and consistency in the dashboards.
  4. Maintain and update the dashboards based on user feedback and requirements.

Content Management & Development in SharePoint

  1. Design and customize the unit SharePoint space for usability and functionality.
  2. Create and organize SharePoint document libraries, lists, and pages to ease access to information.
  3. Implement best practices for SharePoint site architecture and navigation.
  4. Provide training and support to RCP team members on using the SharePoint space effectively.

Digitization of Forms

  1. Support the Unit's need to digitize key forms.
  2. Design and develop digital forms using SharePoint, Forms, or other relevant tools.
  3. Ensure that digitized forms are user-friendly and meet team requirements.
  4. Test and validate the functionality of digital forms before deployment.
  5. Document and train users on how to complete and submit digital forms.

Content Categorization and Organization

  1. Develop strategies for categorizing and organizing content within the SharePoint space.
  2. Implement intuitive taxonomy and metadata structures to enhance content discoverability.
  3. Continuously review and refine content organization to align with needs and feedback.

Advanced university degree or experience equivalent in Data Science, Data analytics, Business, Management, Internal Controls, Risk Management, Information Technology, or relevant field.

Demonstrated experience using Power BI as a visualization tool.

Demonstrated experience in using Microsoft SharePoint to organize collaborative and communication workspaces as per customer needs.

Proven experience in assignments qualified as excellent by customers.

Skills

  1. Advanced use of Power BI as a visualization tool for business data.
  2. Strong understanding of information architecture and web design principles for SharePoint.
  3. Strong communication skills and demonstrated experience in organizing and optimizing information.
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French.
  5. Tech-savvy with proficient computer skills, including Word, Excel, Power Query, and SharePoint.
  6. Strong analytical skills and reporting capabilities.
  7. A high level of individual responsibility, commitment, and initiative.
  8. Team player and effective communicator.
Desirable Qualifications

A consultant with experience in finance, internal controls, and risks in an organization, along with advanced Power BI skills.

Deliverables
  1. Power BI model to visualize the Control Self-Assessment results in a dashboard.
  2. Collaborative SharePoint space organization proposal.
  3. Updated communications SharePoint space.
  4. Digitization of key templates and creation of respective Power BI visualizations.
Selection and Recruitment Process
